I found this while doing a roll search. It has a nice rainbow toning to it also lots of purple. And as you can see a huge lamination. Thought I would share.

coindexter,

First, from the pic it looks like a large date.

Second, kind of looks more like a struck thru than a lamination. Which would be way cool if it is. Some different pics might help.

I think the plating goes on after the strike, if so that is one cool cent. nlp

nlp coins,First off it's a 1960 cent and they are not plated like modern cents. I think the modern blank planchets are plated before they are struck.IMHO,

Im 100% sure this is Lamination I have a few. You can actuly see the lamination peal lines going all the way to the edge of the coin. This is a scan picture. But the more I look at a small date I have I'm sure your right. The top of the 6 looks a little tall.

It is not a struck through or a lamination, it is a delamination because the laminated metal in question is now gone(i.e. no longer attached).

This coin is definitely struck through scrap, is much more valuable than a delaminated planchet, and is definitely a small date...which has no bearing on the value of the error. Wait for Mike Diamond to chime in...but I'm certain of my answer.

wow, amazing what lighting and angle do. The first pic still looks like a large date and the second is definitely small. Thx for confirming, Chuck.
