Weighed up a bunch of 40% and 90% kenns.
40% 11.3 to 11.7 range
90% 12.3 to 12.6 range
Your coin is in the normal weight range.
Might not be a bad idea to check all 65's
If you find one that weighs 12 or over it may be
a mule. Possible ?

I believe at least one 1965 quarter in silver has surfaced. No reason why a 90% half wouldn't surface eventually.

It would not be a mule, though. It would be a wrong planchet strike. A mule is a coin struck with obverse or reverse designs intended for other coins...like the 2000 Sac dollars with the Washington quarter obverse.

Thanks for clearing that up. Again, an article that I had read
when I was young, referred to the 1965 silver dime as a mule so that
had always stuck in my head over the years. So just some more incorrect info from years gone by.
