Did all those come from the same teller tray? What a score! It's like a mini-Half Dollar type set. You should have told the teller that the Barber was missing!

Amazing. It's VG-F condition makes me think it's from somebody's collection. A $40 coin for 50 cents!

WOW.
That's unbelievable.
My best per $200 in rolls of halves is a single 90% half.

The coin shop guy offered me $55 for the coin. The reverse is closer to F+VF- and the wear is on the obverse VG+/F- according to him and was not sure what may have the caused it to be uneven (one side to another). There is more to these coins - All 3 were dropped off by an elderly gentleman with rolls of halves and ikes. In his stuff I found error JFK's (82p No FG, 72 D - DDO's) and one of his ikes is the error coin. The coin shop guy is on the fence with the ike, but is about 90% certain it is the error coin and that I should get it graded someday. I picked up the rolls of his coins the next day after calling the bank and talking to the teller and getting more details. I have specifically told the teller and the bank manager to tell the gentleman that I will pay more than face / fair market value for his coins if he is interested and OR put him in touch with the coin shop which ever he prefers. According to the bank he comes in only every 4 to 5 months or so accompanied by an aide and dumps ikes and halves. This gentleman must have saved these knowing what he was doing at some point and now has no idea / does not remember / realize what he is doing now. In some ways I feel sad for him as his "work" from the past is going UN rewarded. Per the bank manager he cashed out around $1,000 worth of ikes and halves in Dec 09. Who knows what was in that lot. Peace to all. Edit to add pics of the wrapper the older gentleman uses.

$55 is really generous for the 1875, if you have no problems letting it go I would do it.

Very nice find. I remember how excited I got finding my first IHC in a box of cents. I couldnt imagine what I would do if I saw one of these in a teller tray.
