I've met Fred Weinberg at Long Beach. I have also purchased a few coins from him. I believe he still advises PCGS on error coins. He is not a grader so he can still sell coins.

This is one of 6 or 7 shattered obverse (anvil) dies known from 1997. This is the most severe.
Error coin writer and researcher.
