As we all know, you don't find Stone Mountain Halves in circulation. Some poor soul has had one of his unknowing relatives spend this item, or had it cashed in. I think it is the only reason you would find a coin like that, and in that condition. You are very lucky. Enjoy!

AGCoinhunter, I am curious, over the years, what other commems have you found? You mentioned that this is the third Stone Mountain. I would not be surprised to hear if you have encountered a Columbian or two.

Funny you ask but these three are the only silver commems I have found. I have found clad versions of the Statue of Liberty, 1996 Olympic Basketball and Olympic Swimming x2 but never any other silver ones. I ended up buying the Columbian for my 7070 since I could never find it. Two of the Stone Mountains came from bags off of coin counters while the other one was in a bank roll from a coin service. It was surrounded by a Benjamin and a Walker. The one above was found in my first handfull out of a bag.

Quite surprising, given that the Columbian halves circulated a bit more and were produced in larger quantities. Good for you though, as the Stone Mountains are worth more. Keep up the search!
