I bought my first one today, a 2000P Beautiful proof coin, now I want more I was looking at the mint website, they say they go on sale Nov. 19th. I did not see a price though. How does one go about buying these from the mint? Can the everyday person even do this?

Yes .. anyone can order from the mint.
Many members here buy annual sets or coins each year.

You can order from the mint web site, or get on the mailing list, you can even call in your order.

The Eagle I think you are talking about seeing on the site for Nov 19th, I think is the Proof silver Eagle. I am not sure if they have released the price yet .. but I am thinking in the $45 range.

Here's a link to the web-page that includes the price:

http://catalog.usmint.gov/webapp/wc...ory_rn=10111

A $4.95 shipping & handling charge is added to each order regardless of the number purchased. If you buy one, your total cost will be $50.90. Kind of pricey but right in line with current market price for ASE proofs.

Well yes and no on the 50 bucks. Some issues are selling for much more depending on year, grade, and mintage. For most issues, $50 is appropriate but some that have been sent to a TPG and graded MS69DCAM have a premium. The 95W and 2006 20 year Anniversary 3 Coin Set with the Reverse Proof are quite pricey.

I have several extras of some years and would help you out for less. When the time is right for you Troy, shoot me an email. I have 5 - 10 years of extras. Right of the top of my head, I know I have extra 99, 00, 02, 06, 07, and 08.

It's the least I can do. Did you get that mail yet?

Mike

I too fell in love with Silver Eagles. I got started back up in collecting from a kid about 2 1/2 years ago when a friend gave me 1942 Walker for our new son. I was so mesmerized by the design. Then when I saw the SAE I was instantly hooked. Started out with kids dates 98 & 08 and been trying to complete Unc & Proof Sets. I have to hone back in on them being I jumped over to Pre 1900's. But If a good deal crosses my path I try and get it. I always wonder if these people selling everyday SAE for outstanding prices really sell them. I believe I have 86, 07 08 09 10 Unc. Proof 98, 2007W & 2008W Burnished. I spent a little to much on a couple around 25 for unc.
