Seller who I had some unpleasant emails (though nothing hugely vulgar) bought from me. After I left feedback for him (mistake) he left me a positive feedback that consisted of no text, but all my DSR's dropped. I ran a DSR report and it showed a 2 and a 3, and maybe another 3 but I don't know if that takes into account today. Its possible I got 1-2 4's from other buyers for shipping time since I've been mailing everything out en masse instead of as I get payments in big batches, but nobody else seemed unsatisfied with their item and because of the way the star ratings look, I instantly noticed the change only after he left FB. So I'm guessing it was him. Actually no, I'm 99.99% sure that it was. If I was unsure in any way, I would not have posted this. Since ebay gave me a 1 week suspension for doing that to another seller in order to avoid being blocked and said I wasn't allowed to leave DSR's inconsistent with feedback (and was rude to me on the phone about it), I wonder if there is any recourse. However, if they're mostly 2's and 3's I doubt they will do anything. I'll have to check the feedback. I was also wrong to be nice and just 'part ways' without blocking him. On my list now.

Geeze, sorry to hear that. Some people you just can't please. They want stuff for free practically. Negative feedback unless you give me that 09S VDB for 50 bucks AND free shipping!

Do you provide tracking number and when item shipped?

Just curious, how do you get a tracking number when mailing first class? And....How relevant is it to shadows problem? Oh...and how do you block a seller or a buyer on ebay?

Quote: First Class packages and parcels can be tracked with Delivery or Signature Confirmation. Not reliably. They are only required to be scanned at delivery, not along the way. FYI, if you supply a DC number to the customer when shipped, many times it will appear that it hasn't even been shipped until it's delivered. Not good.

Yeah, I didn't mean true tracking in the sense of step by step locations like Registered Mail but it satisfies PayPal's protection requirement for proof of receipt. It varies by location but for the St. Louis area USPS, my DC packages are scanned >90% of the time at the Hazelwood Sort Facility before they make their way to other parts of the country.

This is all so confusing. A lot of the stuff in these reports seems like it doesn't match up. I still do know that the person in question did still give me low DSR's because I saw the drop off, but I'm pretty confused as to how these results come about sometimes (and I'm fairly adept with math)

Shadow: PM me if you want to know how to 100% positively CONFIRM that this guy trashed your DSRs.

Kenkat, He had been rude to me after I asked about a coin. When he abruptly turned my offer of $15 below his ($200+) start price (taking into account fees) down, I was confused because I've never had that happen (at least not that way) when giving a more than reasonable offer. In fact, most of my offers were LOWER with other sellers, but I really liked the coin. I was asking him if he could accept a paypal gift payment (this all happened over email, I'm smart enough not to do it over ebay's system) and I asked him after the refusal if he didn't take the fees saved into account by mistake after wards, since sometimes people will do this as even many advanced sellers aren't familiar with some of these things in my experience. Then he accused me of trying to 'bully' him into accepting an offer and how I should have known better than to ask if he knew about the fees (because I should have known that he did apparently) along with a bunch of other nonsense in a pretty rude email. I sent an email back respectfully (but assertively) disagreeing that such was the intention, and that I was kind of upset/confused at being accused of such things. He never responded. Thanks to weerdsteev, I have confirmed that this is the person who left me the bad ratings. 1 for item as described, 2 for communication, and 1 for shipping time. Buyer ID is 'flcoins' and I was not going to tell everyone his ID until I was 100% absolutely sure it was him. He's also a seller so I would block him and not buy from him either. What a jerk...

Oh - I see - so he bought from you after a bad exchange where you were the buyer? And then deliberately dinged you? If that's the case, then yes, you have a right to be irritated.
That stinks.

Yep, pretty much. I was trying to buy a coin from him, he was a jerk, and I responded much more nicely than I should have or than 95%+ of ebayers would have. Then he dinged me for no good friggin reason other than out of spite. On a $20 coin that went for $10.50 with free shipping nonetheless...
And that was after I left him nice feedback ANYWAY despite being treated like trash and then being ignored when I responded respectfully to said trash.

Shadow: Were you shown as a TRS (Top Rated Seller) by ebay PRIOR to this altercation? In other words, did this guy's sabotage strategy knock you out of the ranks of TRS?

Nope. I hadn't sold enough for that to be the case. But I did notice a pretty dramatic drop, mostly because I had so few ratings.

Found two more people who left me mediocre/low ratings. I think many bidders don't know how important these are now. I blocked them both.
