I got to wondering if it were easier to dig photo Gold than Silver. I keep getting serious reflections on the silver...so I tried this little experiment. Now if I could just stop jiggling the camera or try with my husbands little tripod. It worked!

Yes it did Bryan...my camera didn't say it did but, it moved just enough to blurry it up. I tried it again and posted the results on the Proof Photo thread. Amazing what a little tripod and less caffeine can do! Thanks for the observation though, I thought it was just me! Whew!

Yep,I never could get a clear picture of the reverse on a Morgan till I figured out it was just me wiggling. Now I use a prop for the camera. Instant fix.
I was the "shakiest gun in the west" before that.[:0]

Where did you set these coins on to take the picture?

Any special light used?

Wow those coins are nice. Tri-pods definitey make the camera still. I use a prop because I don't have a tri-pod.

You can find small sturdy tripods for less than $30 in a variety of places. It's a good investment, especially if you use a relatively light weight digital camera.

This Link to taking pics was put in the Aussie coin forum awhile back by Lim. Not sure if it has been shown in here previously. It's a great little technique and might help out a bit.
