Hi,

The attached photos of this coin should hopefully be sufficient evidence to support the existence of a DDO coin.

Please let me know:

1) if this coin is a true DDO,

2) what grade this coin has,

3) if it would be worth getting this coin graded/slabbed at ANACS,

4) the estimated value of this coin in today's market,

5) the total estimated number of DDO type coins for this particular coin.

Thanks

Check this link http://coppercoins.com/diesearch.php
I don't think it would be worth having it slabbed because of the damage it has. Not a high dollar error either even in a non damaged coin. IMHO,

PS, I am no pro but there is a chance it is only a machine double which I think it might be.

I agree it may just be Strike Doubling. (I use the term Strike Doubling as proof coins are struck more than once.
Here is a couple of DDO's I found on this year. Most are on the dates for this year:

1. Maybe, but I would have to see the date far better. The remainder of the motto is Machine Doubling.
2. Impaired proof with irreparable PVC damage. No grade.
3. No. As a type (1962 proof cent DDOs) they are plentiful.
4. Less than $1.
5. Impossible to tell. Mintage figures were not kept by individual die, so the total number of doubled dies for 1962 proof cents would be impossible to even guess. The one thing I can tell you...set a 50 coin roll of 1962 proof cents in front of me that have never been searched through and I can show you 25-30 doubled dies. They are that plentiful - over 30 different hub doubled dies used to strike 1962 proof cents, and 85% of them are pretty much on the date only.
