Someone identified this as a "Spiting Eagle".

I have never heard the term but I can see why the term originated. What does anyone know about this coin type?

I'm sure it is. You should go to VAM World to accurately attribute it. was this cleaned at some point? It's hard to tell from pics. It looks like hair lines on the surface.

It is indeed VAM 3 spiting eagle, probably the most common of the 91-CC series VAM's...and it does appear to bave been cleaned or rubbed at some time with a cloth...

The rub lines you guys are talking about, are visibly above the forehead in the picture? Just trying to learn to identify cleaned coins.
