At a coin show last Sunday I came accross a dealer with some fantastic MS-65+ Mercury dimes for also fantastically low prices. Just couldn't pass them up so purchased about 10 of them. Had to go to the bank safe deposit box for sets #1, #2, #3, #4 of Mercury dimes. Way, way back as I found nicer graded coins I would put them in Albums and the ones from the Albums went into 2x2's. Eventually enough 2x2's of them to start another Album. This process continued with all Albums of all denominations and with Mercury dimes it really got overly done. Now with 12 Mercury dime Albums and most of the ones from the show Sunday being a set #1 type of coin, I just spent most of tonight so far taking Dimes from set #1 to #2, #2 to #3, #3 to #4 and on and on and on. Now at #8 but eyes getting tired so jumped on the computer to get some rest from Mercury dimes. And I know there is now possibly enough duplicates in 2x2's to start several more sets. AAAHHHHHHHHhhhhhhhhhh.
I often now wonder at my elderly age how much of an irritation someone will have to go through with all this STUFF if and when I slip away. This has been been discussed on this forum in the past so it always reminds me of what if.
Now back to moving Dimes. Hopefully I'll get done before I fall asleep.

Collrecting is not supposed to be so difficult. Just add me to your will and I'll be sure the coins are properly cared for.

I do this too, but I stop at one album and then move on to another series. I have plenty of series to go.

If I ever had this problem, I would probably look into selling some of the coins. Really, I don't see a pressing need to own 6 1941D dimes for example.

And now you all know why I do not play the "upgrade game" with my collection! I have never sold a coin, so I would be in just carl's situation as well.

By the way, congratulations, carmykle!

I agree with you 1,000%. It's just that I never sell coins and since I've been collecting for well over 60 years, the quantity of all of them keeps on growing. 6 1941D's? I'm on set #12 of Mercury dimes alone. When I add in the rolls of duplicates and the ones in 2x2's, it comes up to well over 3,000 Mercury dimes. And it's not just dimes. I'm also on set #10 of Lincoln Cents and many, many others too. Over 100 Albums now. I think this hobby of mine is out of control.

Congradulations for sure. Now that is one situation I don't have and wish I did. Only one Son and everyone else is long gone.
