Hi everybody! I know there are a number of dealers out there on the forum. Have any of you tried advertising on the Coin World website, such as a banner ad on the top or side of the page? How were your results? Also, for collectors, do you ever click on banner ads on websites such as Coin World? I am thinking about giving is a three month trial. The price is steep but not too unreasonable at $500 per month. You can also put a banner ad on their email newsletter but that runs $1000 per month, a bit too steep for me! Throughout the 1990's, before the internet caught on, I used to run full page ads in Coin World once a month, but I think those run near $2000 now and the pages are half the size that they used to be back then. Thanks for any advice or comments you can give me! ACE Mike

Hmmm... That's an idea I hadn't considered. I thought all of the advertisements here were feeds from Google and ebay. ACE Mike

Quote: It's much more cost effective to advertise at this Awesome Website I must admit I've click on the top banner ad on this "awesome website" a few times. But like ACE said, I thought it was just pulling from ebay or links from what people posted on the forum or something. But if I see something interesting up there I've clicked on it a few times. As long as that ebay bid link thing is what it is anyways.

Thanks for the info folks. About what I expected. Personally I do not click on banner ads and such, but I know some folks do when they are on a website they trust.
bherring 1964: No, I am not from ACE coins in IL. Not sure if I am allowed to say the name of my company - I dont want to spam the forum or anything like that. Quick hint though, start in IL and head 3,000 miles northwest and here I am!

Ah, you are that ACE Welcome aboard, you would probably be pleased to know that I have seen your firm's name posted here several times over the years as a recommended dealer/source of inexpensive coins.

Oh, that ACE. Nice to have you here. No need to spam your site here. We do it for you, every time someone asks where's the best place to buy low-midrange US coins. You, and one or two others, are the answer. Truth be told, I already had your site open in a tab when I stumbled across this thread. Mint State Brown Lincolns are of interest to me, and you've offered quite a few nice ones.

Thanks folks! I know I have quite a few of my customers that are members of this forum, and of course I have had a link to the forum from my website for a long time. We will see how this banner advertising thing goes. It is scheduled to start appearing on the Coin World website on Friday October 1. ACE Mike

GO, The Coin World advertising is not pulling in the response I was hoping for. I am interested in your suggestion about advertising here, and have sent two requests through the link you provided, but have not received any response. I am not sure the links provided in that page are active. Any suggestions on who to contact about advertising here? Thanks for your help! ACE Mike

Mike: You could link your website through your signature line and it would appear in all your posts. I think that's acceptable per CCF rules.

Thanks bherring! I have looked around to see how to add a signature line but have not had much luck finding it. In the My Profile section, I see the box that allows the signature line to be shown, but I don't know how to make the signature line. I would like to put a link to the website along with my ANA number (LM5559) too. Any suggestions? ACE Mike

instead of placing a ad, you could start your own website, get a pay pal account, place your advertisements in free to use coin collecting websites. Then you could kick start your business. personally I dont click on any ads in any website.
warm wishes.

Unless you mean he should post spam on free websites costing him nothing which is just north of despicable in my opinion. Quote: personally I dont click on any ads in any website. And you probably wonder why some charge a monthly fee. Have you at least ever donated to a free site you use a lot?

Quote: I have looked around to see how to add a signature line but have not had much luck finding it. Click on the "MY CCF" box at near the top of the page, then click on the "EDIT PROFILE" box. You will be prompted for your Password. Enter your Password and you'll be at your profile page. On the right side on that page, under "Basics" you can modify your signature. Be sure to select "Yes" next to "View Signatures in Posts?" You're done!
