Me again. What do you(s) think these would be worth? My dad has several coins(Including 1909-svdb, 3 legged buffalo, 1916D, etc..) and I'm just trying to figure out prices for him. BTW: Anyone know how to take good pictures of coins? I'm trying scans, but as you can tell it cuts some off, and doesn't show all the details. Plus the plastic sheaths don't help. Thanks in advance.

I'd peg the Trade dollar in the $125-150 range, assuming it's genuine. This is one of the most widely-counterfeited coin types and there are probably many more fakes than real coins offered for sale. Some fakes are so deceptive it takes an expert to tell. Your coin isn't a blatant fake but much better photos are needed to be confident.

The bust half looks like a decent Extremely Fine example and would probably sell for about the same amount.

Definitely remove the coins from the holders for photographs. Use a digital camera with a tripod to hold it steady and a bright light. Even a cheap camera can take pretty decent coin pictures.

Let's see that S-VDB, 3-legger, and '16-D!

Thanks for the reply, and info. I'm still trying to figure out how to take good pictures. I don't have a tripod, and am using a Kodak easyshare.
