Just started into the 40's LWC's and found this 44s I could not find any on copper coins what do you all think ?

I think I see the shift on the numbers as well so I am going to say it's MD.

I agree. There's no notching so I'm going with MD.

Repunched mintmarks do not need "notching" to be doubled. That rule applies to most doubled dies. Mintmarks are applied to the dies in a completely different way, so the idea of notching isn't necessarily a good rule to use.

This particular case is that of a coin struck by a late die state die and worn or damaged to appear the way it does. It is not am RPM.
