I was rummaging through some boxes of paper and other things last week and found this Christmas "Happy". I collect Christmas cards (among other things) so I was really interested. Then as I read the front I thought "dimes huh, well let's see" and sure enough they were still in there. All Mercury dimes and dated as follows, 41, 44, 43, 44, 43, 40, 34, 17, 43, 43. From the dates surely this card/book is from the mid 1940's. I haven't taken any of the dimes out to check for mint marks. These dimes have probably not been handled since the 40's. Anyway, I thought it was a cool find. The front of the booklet: And when opened:

What a great way to give someone a dollar Good thing it has Mercs instead of a silver certificate that would only be worth $2-3

Actually I never thought about that. The coins do face each other when the card is closed which means they can contact each other. There is a really nice patina going on all the coins and the 43's and 44's are in really nice shape (AU). Maybe I need a piece of something in between the coins to keep them from making contact with each other. (Any suggestions?) I kind of want to keep the coins in the card since that is how I found it but then again.......

You are now at the point where you decide if you are a collector or something else.

LOL, I have been called a lot of things in my life so I guess I could qualify as a "somethig else".

Now that saddens me Mike. I rather liked your idea of: Quote: Maybe I need a piece of something in between the coins to keep them from making contact with each other.
