These coins are already slabbed, pit your grading skills against the "experts".....each other.....It may be tricky because these coins are scanned through plastic slabs, so keep in mind that scratches and white specks are on the holders, not the coins. If a coin is annotated as being scratched, I will tell you. You can decide if the coin is annotated as being cleaned or damaged. First is a 2005 silver eagle in a blue ANACS slab. This 1837 CBH is also in a blue ANACS slab. This 1804 penny is in a NCS slab, with details, so there is no numeric grade, (just a letter grade). Edited by zeewool 10/09/2010 6:50 pm

Should have guessed damaged, didn't look close enough. Thought environmental damage because of the white gunk on the back. My guess had been F-12. I thought AU-50 details dipped on the half.

I wrote down my views before seeing zeewool answers at the end of this post ..... so I'll share my newbie views ... Next time ..... don't be so quick on the answer zeewool. The Eagle is PR69 DCAM ..... lovely. The CBH is AU-50 cleaned ... with a great die crack on the obverse from the 'A' to the Eagle neck. The 1804 cent is VG10 details ..... scratches on the obverse are keeping this from a true grade ..... love the worn Cud that appears on the reverse from 6:00 to 8:00. Seeing the answers I know I am off some ..... but enjoying all the learning. Thanks zeewool for the fun posts. David

Quote: Thought environmental damage because of the white gunk on the back. I dropped the ball on that one Shadow.....that white gunk is neither on the coin or the slab....it is on my scanner glass. Sorry it threw you off.....I will have to check other photos for the same white gunk.... Here is what the coin and slab look like without it. Quote: Next time ..... don't be so quick on the answer zeewool. Okay. Quote: a great die crack on the obverse from the 'A' to the Eagle neck. Look again and a little closer David....that great crack from the rim, under the A, to the neck, goes under the neck, out the other side to the top of the wing, under it, and to and under the E to the rim
