I believe I have found a minor error on the reverse of this coin. The N in UNITED is stamped with the upper left point of the letter missing. Probably a chipped die? On a Proof? Any help will be appreciated as I haven't a clue, well I have a clue, I just don't know if it means anything.

Possibly an over polished die or Struck Through Grease (I think that is less common on proofs though). Nothing too major but nice to find it on a proof.

Nice coin and pics by the way. Disregarding the flip dust, specs, lint etc. looks like you have a near perfect proof. 69 anyway. Maybe you could check out some other proofs from that year and compare. Actually
i just found the answer. Look at any siver wash. quarter. Proof or business strike. The N is normal. Did not look at any clads though.

Thank you Indian1, I guess I overlooked the obvious and didn't compare it to another coin, duh!

Appreciate your looking and finding an answer.

YW

By the way, the silver coins I was looking at were a few type B reverses
i had on my desk. Those are proof reverse coins that got into general circulation. Did not check on any other silver business strikes. The clads do not have this type N
Must be just the proofs then. I have no silver business strikes at the moment to look at.
See, I was not even thorough :)
Best thing to do if you notice something strange about any coin is to
just check out some others around that same date and compare.
I have looked at thousands of silver/proof quarters and did not even pick up on that N
We all learn something new every day.
