J338 in silver or J339 if copper. These were restruck also. If real, one of only a dozen or so in each metal, and a multi-thousand-dollar coin.

I can go with, maybe, a period-correct, test-pattern type coin but you also have to look into the fact it's not a real 1863 SL Half Dollar. Because: The scroll on reverse (when it appeared on the SL Half Dollar in 1866) looked like this:  Your coin obviously has an abbreviated version and I can't read what it says in the middle of the scroll but the full motto should read "In God We Trust". I don't see that there.

I don't know the series or who's collecting, but all I could think from the picture is PROOF!Such a beautiful coin!!
