Just acquired this one recently. Check out how LIBERTY is pretty close to being in the right place in regards to the first strike, but upside down. I really dig the purplish undertones!

To make sure I understand why the reverse is stretched out instead of there being a second impression of the reverse die, was the reverse struck a second time against a blank planchet?

Amazing alignment on the reverse, but why would the obverse be upside down?

Very interesting and cool error!

The coin was probably not out of the chamber and was struck partially on another planchet making an indent on the reverse. Mike Diamond would have the correct description for this.
