I am a bit confused here. PCGS graded this Buffalo as a PR70DCAM and it is frist strike. I see that with NGC the PR is Poor and they have Proof as PF, I am ok with this, but I cannot seem to find the abbreviation of DCAM in the PCGS list. They have a DC for Deep Cameo, but not DCAM, is this something else than Deep Cameo? Also should it not have the abbreviations of FS as well for the first strike. Lastly. Will this grading make the coin the best grade that a coin can achieve, or is there a higher grade that can be allocated. Obvioulsy this will be a unique one of a kind as it is the First Strike, no other coin can be First Strike, or doesn't this mean it is the very first coin striked?

Zarboy, As it relates to "first strike" -- It's a "marketing" gimmick. Any coin submitted within the first 30 days of its release for grading is eligible for "first strike" status. IF you take it one step further some low mintage coins have sold out within 3 weeks of issue. Ergo, all coins in that program are "eligible" for that status. For example all the platinum proof coins sold out within 3 weeks of their release in 2009 and 2010.

PO means Poor, as in PO1. If you saw an NGC slab labeled PR1, it was likely a typo on the label. Proof can be PF or PR. DCAM for PCGS is Deep Cameo. NGC's equivalent is Ultra Cameo. It means the same thing.

Thanks Bherring and Ceylon for clearing that up, I went back to NGC and PCGS site, and the ref I referred to was the PR-1 grading under the business strikes, but they do have the PF. However I still didnt see the UCAM, only the CA and UC abbreviations. nevertheless it is clear that Buffalo is one awesome looking coin. As for First Strike what they actually mean first couple hundred / thousand strikes

Ucam=Ultra Cameo = NGC's version of Deep Cameo (which means the devices are deeply frosted)
DCAM=Deep Cameo = PCGS term for NGC's Ultra Cameo (Most modern US proofs will be one of these according to which grading company graded the coin)
CA=Cameo (usually on classic proofs that the devices are frosted)
UC= the same as Ultra Cameo (see above)
