I think it's a great tonning. Natural tonning or tampered with I'm not sure.

It's definately AT IMO. The seller states that it has been cleaned and the toning has obviously evolved from that point. I have a 1903 IH in AU condition with similar color toning but it is not as dramatic (different composition?). Probably as a result of an old cleaning as well but I can't see any hairlines on it. It's got some eye appeal if that's your thing (and I do like toned coins). I would rather see that particular coin with a more natural tone.

I agree, but the fact that the toning has come from the cleaning doesn't make it AT. In my opinion it's secondary toning, which the coin couldn't if gotten without the dipping. It still has nice eye appeal regardless.

The Flying Eagle is truly a beautiful coin. What a shame the cleaning takes away some interest on this example. One must wonder what it looked like before it was dipped. Regardless, you probably won't be seeing this on Bowers and Merena's auction anytime soon. http://www.bowersandmerena.com
