I have a 1964 Set that the dealer said was proof. It has no S mintmark and the envelope says Philly in the corner. Can this be a philly proof? Do those exist?

San Francisco did not start minting proof sets until 1968. Prior to that they were minted in Philadelphia.

If your dealer is worth half his weight in copper, he should be able to recognize a proof set.

If not, I'd find another dealer!

I thought we discussed this already? What color is the envelope? In the bottom left corner does it have the date followed by P.C.?

The thing is the corner that says Philadelphia, is it like a paper backed foil emblem (multi-sided I believe)or is it a grey plastic circular disk? If it is the paper backed foil I is a proof set, if it is the grey plastic it is half of a mint set.
