I am guessing its mexican but anything other than that I have no idea (and even that was a guess) but I would like to know what it was, what its made of and what its worth. I am tinkering with some carvings (like the hobo nickels) and my grandfather had quite a few of these and this is about the size I would like to start with so its either this or a ASE so any help would be greatly appreciated because I dont want to mess with something that is of much value

Well Bryan, I believe 24Gr Plata Pura is 24 grains pure silver,what ever that worth.

It is a Mexican 2 Pesos commemorating the Centennial of Mexico's Independence. KM#462. It's .90 silver (.7717 oz silver) with a total weight of 26.6667 g. This coin was only struck in 1921.
