Question About Eisenhower Dansco 7176

ACWhammy Valued Member United States 119 Posts	Posted 11/08/2010 3:33 pm I was looking online for the Eisenhower dollar Dansco and Brent Krueger has it listed as Eisenhower dollars P&D (7176), but then I was looking at replacement sheets for that same album on another website and it showed slots for the S dates. I was wondering if Album# 7176 is for P&D or P&D&S. Thanks! AC Report this Post to the Staff

jbuck Moderator United States 188213 Posts	Posted 11/08/2010 4:28 pm The 7176 includes the uncirculated silver S-mint coins (also known as the "Blue Ikes" because of the blue envelopes they shipped in from the mint). Because of this, I suggest that you get the 8176, which includes all of the proof issues. With the 7176, you need to purchase the premium valued coins; so you might as well get the proofs and the 8176 album. Just my opinion, but I should disclose that I do have the 8176 myself. Most of the Danscos I was buying for modern US coins don't include the "S" mint unless it was issued for circulation. Perhaps I will just put the Ike's on hold for now. Report this Post to the Staff
jbuck Moderator United States 188213 Posts	Posted 11/09/2010 10:40 am The Eisenhower dollar is a somewhat unique case with the special issue uncirculated silver dollars from the San Francisco mint. I believe that the 7166 Kennedy half dollar album includes a place for the uncirculated S-mint 1776-1976 issue as well (Someone would need to verify, since I have the 8166 album). Do not give up on the Eisenhower dollars so fast! In my opinion, it is still an easy set to complete and not as expensive as many other sets can be.
