I got the same thing. since the release is november 19, I'm not sure what the backorder part is for...

I got it too and I am subscribed to the automatic send list where they send one automatically to me. I have been on the list for 5 years now and this is the first time I have ever been put on a back order list so not sure what they means. They said in the first email they would go on sale on the 4th I believe so if any were ordered then through the phone or online it would seem they would send them to the people that has already had one put aside for them on the subscriptions before they send to the ones that were ordered the day they go on sale

I got the same e-mail on the two I ordered and I also was on the subscription list.

I went and looked up my order and it has 2 listed that I have a subscription for the total for the two coins with an expected ship date of 11/24- said it was back ordered but gave the expected ship date so who knows. I am hopeful that I will get mine. I'm gonna be real upset if all the major TV networks that sell coins get a huge batch and leave true collectors holding an empty bag. That is gonna look real bad on the mint's part. But as I said since they gave me a total that will be charged for the two with an expected ship date I think I'm good. I will let you know if that status changes or gets pushed back.

Holy cow slaufman! Sold out, thats bad for those that wanted one, great for us who have orders in. I kind of thought those generated emails suggested a low minting, it being this late in the year and all. I'll have mine by Thanksgiving.

Expect to get a notice sometime soon that tells you that subscriptions have all been cancelled this year and that you must order on the 19th just like everyone else. I suspect that once they had entered all of the subscriptions that they either had very few coins left or were already oversold. This scheme of entering our subscription orders two weeks early and sending us a back order notice (probably an automatic system response) and then canceling our orders and issuing a sold out email stinks. They could have simply counted the subscriptions and done a little math, then simply issued a no subscription email. Pure lazy and very poor customer service on the part of both the mint and PBGS. I captured my Track Order pages just in case they try to expunge them and claim that they never did what they did. I am willing to bet that they do not issue an apology for this action and do not even explain why they did it.

It is also possible that this whole order cancellation thing is an automated response that happened because PBGS entered the subscriptions too early (they had started entering them two days before the on sale date some time ago) and that once they get enough complaints they will go in and fix it all up. All in all, whatever the intent, whatever the outcome, I don't that this plan was very well thought out. When you consider that order fulfillment is one of PBGS's core businesses, and the only visible thing they do for the mint, they sure do suck at it.
