The SAEs will come on sale at noon EST on Friday, November 19. New subscription orders will not cause an order for the 2010 coin, they will start with the 2011 coin, if one is produced. If you order shortly after noon on Friday, you should have no trouble getting a coin. The SAEs are not sold out.

Quote: Wow, could the Mint screw this up any further? I may just opt to buy a PCGS or NGC slabbed version and avoid this nonsense. Assuming your question is rhetorical, be careful how loud you speak. You have obviously forgotten "How stuff Happens" and would happily PM the process to you in a private email. (If I can find that old thing...OH...and it's not for the faint of heart.) I worked for the DOD/DA for almost 40 years and have seen up-close and personal how things get messed up. For anyone to assume D. C. is different, it is; It's the antithesis of red tape and inaction because of the numerous small "empires" created by different political factions. The every day Civil Servant or common government worker doesn't stand a chance. "Doing the Right Thing" in D. C. is more of an accident than the rule. I doubt, but would gladly eat my words with crow, if I ever see a 2010 ASE. I'll be happy when its 2011! There's more silver coming out of the ground in the US than in the previous 50 years. Maybe they can get it right next year. (Hope springs eternal!)

Received an email yesterday from the Mint stating that it was a mix-up on their part and that they are confident that the orders that were canceled are now good to go. We shall see Mint, we shall see.

My first subscription order (for a single coin) was posted as shipped and I received the email at 8:20PM CST last night (11-20). I don't think that it has really shipped yet in the sense that I don't think that FedEx will get the package until tomorrow morning (it does not show up in their tracking system yet). Since this one is on slow ship it will most likely take a week to get to me. If I get real lucky, I will get it Friday. If my second subscription manages to ship Monday or Tuesday, I will get that one first. It is a four coin order with fast ship that I just entered earlier this year when I was sure that no uncirculated SAEs would be minted. I didn't combine my subscriptions because my single coin order has been in place for about five years and I figured that it would get entered and ship sooner. I was right on that score, my two subscriptions are about 75,000 order numbers apart Nd email notices were coming about six hours apart during the cancellation fiasco. The published ship dates are totally bogus. They are always 15 days from today. The Track Order page will show 15 days out until it switches to in stock and reserved. PBGS used this running 15 day thing on my uncirculated Boy Scout dollar as well, which actually shipped on the original date estimate (two weeks before the last estimate).

I still have not received any information from the Mint about my subscription and anything being shipped. Has anyone received anything?

I got the same basic confirmation e-mail as bherring1964. Expected ship date 12-05-10. (The other items I ordered along with my proof ASE's were listed as "in stock" and may ship sooner, if past experience repeats itself) At least two of the Proof ASE's I ordered are to be Christmas gifts.

slaufman, were those a subscription order? If so, when did you originally place the subscription? Was it this year or has the subscription for 4 coins been in place for a few years?

Just got my "shipped confirmed" order email today ! ..... I didn't use the "tracking numbers" they also gave me.....but now I'm not worried anymore ! Anybody know the mintage numbers so far on these ? I wonder if there will be a small chance for a low mintage or not. I wish I could get "real lucky" sometime with SOMETHING.....like the Reverse Proof one, Which I never ordered of course ! .......

On these coins, I don't think that mintage matters much. Look at the history of modern commemorative silver dollars. Only a few issues have sold out but one of those that did is one of the most valuable, the 2001 buffalo dollars. It has one of the highest mintages but has a high value because people are not dumping them into the secondary market. The 2006 Franklin dollars sold out even faster and initially had a high price in the secondary market but they have since lost almost all of their premium as lots of coins became available. I think that the 2010 SAE has at least a chance of being like the 2001 buffalo because of last year's void I think people will hold onto them and give them as gifts. Mintage is only important if it is so low that it causes scarceness by itself. What is important for most modern coins is availability in the secondary marketplace, and initial mintage is only a part of that equation. Even low mintage does not guarantee high value if most of the coins are being traded on a regular basis, just as high mintage does not guarantee low prices if the coins are not being traded.
