"Cleaned or Not" Quiz..
I have been trying to understand how to identify cleaned coins and in this post I am going to post a bunch of coins so people in the forum can identify if they are cleaned or not.

Whether they've been cleaned or not, I'd suggest, doesn't really matter much in this case. Both suffer--or have suffered in the past at least--from some serious corrosion! There's nothing that cleaning could do to hide that or make up for the damage. The 1 centime is in pretty decent condition compared to the 2, but still it's obverse has had a tough time of it!

These are exceptional coins, these three slabs. Wow!
If NGC didn't identify them as cleaned, then, for my money, they're probably not. One would have to get a look at 'em through a 10x loupe to be sure--I imagine that things get by PCGS or NGC from time to time. I think, though, that if anything they err on the side of caution.
