I have had a "subscription" for two of the Proofs for AGES & AGES !
Like a few other people, I got the "backorder" email.......but I noticed that now I have a "regret to inform you that the Proof ASE's are SOLD OUT"....and I'm quite angry ! .......

Why bother with a subscription if it doesn't put you among the first in line to receive them ?
And I'm sure, because of this....and the "demand" that the secondary market will just have STUPID prices on this 2010 ASE....and I won't be paying STUPID money for one.....

As of this morning, both of my SAE subscription orders have been restored with their original order numbers and are scheduled to ship on the 28th. The Track Order pages have been updated but no emails have come in from the mint.

I would be pretty upset, too. If the Royal Canadian Mint did that with a series like the Chiense Zodiac there would be a small revolt.

The back-order is the reinstatement of the no longer available. They simply left the cancelled item on the order and added a new item just like the first. Just check to make sure that they did it right and call them if something is really wrong, like the number of coins ordered is not correct. We have to hope that they put a stop to whatever was cancelling the orders in the first place or the whole thing might repeat itself. If we get new back-order notices in 72 hours, that might be a concern. The first time, it was about 72 hours from the time they entered the subscriptions into the order numbering system that the back-order notices went out and another 72 hours until the cancellations happened. If it happens again, they won't be able to fix it in time and will have to hold all shipments until they get it fixed. The six day timer, if it is still running, times out early Friday morning, just before the official release. Let's hope they did more than just re-enter the orders.
