The OP hasn't been active since December 2010. I doubt that we will ever learn the fate of the OP and his coin. JK Americana has one of these on their site, but it's on hold. http://www.jkamericana.com/inventor....U-O7lfldVrpBack in June, Coin World ran an article that originally appeared in the LSCC publication. Here's the link to it http://www.coinworld.com/news/seate...-silver.htmlAs for finding one of these half dollars to buy--good luck I imagine they are tightly held. In the longer LSCC article, it said about a dozen are known; one is held in the Massachusetts Historical Society. -MV

Let me correct the person who said that Knights Templar and Mason's are two different groups...
You are wrong sir. You cannot be a Knights Templar unless you are a FreeMason. a Knight Templar is the highest order of the York Rite, which along with the Scottish Rite, are part of Free Masonry.
Take it from one who knows.

MV - Thanks. I do know that John's is on hold. Len's article in the E-Gobrecht was very informative.
I figured that the OP was long gone, as those were his only two posts - but figured it was worth a shot. Thanks.
Also... stampvirgin's explaination of the KT/AFAM relationship is 100% correct.

Ha, meadowview, I was just going to say I bet if anyone has info on this coin, it would be John Kraljevich!
Cool coin and story, I missed it the first time, probably because I wasn't a member of CCF back then.

I still have the coin but not a lot of new information. A numismatic article or two pops up every couple years with a little more info. If these articles are correct, there are around 6-12 known examples. An AU-50 sold at auction in 2015. Another was recently graded an AU-53 by PCGS. https://auctions.stacksbowers.com/l...view/1-1HOB1I recently looked into getting it graded by PCGS but like I mentioned before, I'm not collector and know very little about coins. After looking into sending it in, attempting to fill out the forms was very intimidating and confusing to say the least! I'm definitely going to need help from someone that knows what they are doing. Any advice o where to go from here would be highly appreciated.

Hi, Thanks for the update on the Masonic Half. I think the population numbers often quoted (6-12) are a little on the low side. I own several of them, you have 1, the Mass Historical Society has 1 - that accounts for 50%-100% of the supposed population and I just find that hard to believe, and have conversed with John Kraljevich several times, who also felt the population figures were a little low. It is still a rare piece, no doubt. *** Edited by Staff - Please review the rules that you agreed to when you registered. ***V/R Mario
