I started a date/mm registry set a few years ago that was going to have nothing lower than MS-66 coins in the registry set. I think I have 4 of 5 coins in the 66-67 level and then my concentration moved to another area

My collection rest on counterstamps, uspi, spanish 4peso... but through this forum, while enjoying reading most of your posts, I began admiring US dollar coins particularly Morgans. So I tried getting this through ebay with a nice price that I am happy with, at $240. Epop : your MS63 coin is very nice.

well I do still collect Morgans but now it is usually by VAM number instead of trying to finish up the date/mm set. I had the date/mm set almost complete with mostly MS-64 graded coins but sold off allot of them when I started trying for the 66 or above set. here is whats in the registry set as of right now http://coins.www.collectors-society...eSetID=23484 and as you can see I kind of got bored with it fairly quickly because I was already bored with the set when it was MS-64 and above but tried the 66 and above to try and spark my interest once again. I started a Dansco 7070 type set which sparked my interest in collecting again and that and my B1 Reverse VAM sets have been my main focus for the past couple of years. This is my registry set of 1878 B1 reverse Morgans that is currently ranked #1 http://coins.www.collectors-society...eSetID=19238 . If I could ever get them to add the VAM-85 discovery coin I found it will be way ahead of all the others competing in the set

All I can say is WOW I still have to study further regarding VAM and hopefully I will be able to explore more.

Not allot of people start out collecting Morgans at the level you started at. When I first started buying Morgans it was raw and all I cared about was that they were big and reminded me of my Great Grandfather but it wasn't long until I couldn't get enough of them so I did a little research and looked at price guides. That is when I figured MS-64 was the best value and also if I was going to buy slabbed it was going to be NGC or PCGS because of resell value. I got bored of Morgans after collecting Morgans for a few years until the VAM bug hit me. Once it hit there was no turning back
