Quote: That is when I figured MS-64 was the best value and also if I was going to buy slabbed it was going to be NGC or PCGS because of resell value Yes you are right. I've been reading old coin values magazine and comparing it to the present ones, MS60 & MS64 are the ones with higher percentage of increase in cost. Same thing happened to me when I first started getting Pillar Dollars. I was fascinated by it being big silver coin until I got bored too because of so many fake ones that surfaced out. Then I realized that the value of money - if you were into investment line of thinking will not be feasible on these type of coins. Thus I went for new ventures trying to enjoy owning new types of coins

Pandesalapi I am new in Morgan collecting and I find very informative a book by David Bowers ''A guide book of Morgan silver dollars''.If you already don't have you must acquire a copy. aladinslamp: ep.op is the first letters of my job.I work for the Greek army and everyday I hear that word.Is small and I find it good enough to have it as a nick name in all forums.

I think that 1887 Morgan has no toning when slabbed. This patina come after because of the anacs slab.I see many time gorgeous patina's on old anacs slabs. But I am new on Morgans so I am waiting for your responses

They are deliberately made of an inert plastic which cannot affect the coin.
