Hi,
I'm new to the forum and have a question probably answered before.
Have been playing 'catch-up' on rolls of State Quarters. I Have all the individual states many times over but didn't think to start saving unbroken and uncirculated mint rolls until 2003. Anyway, I read where the first 2 years were not packaged by the mint the same as the 2001 to 2008. Is it true that they were only packaged in 'Mint licensed State Quarter rolls' (the little individual boxes for each state and each mint) because I see them up through 2001 and 2002. I would like as much legitimacy as possible with my collection. I don't deal with 'Bank Wraps' and only want 'Mint Wraps'.
Thank you for any input you can offer.

I went ahead and moved this topic out to the Modern US Coin forum.

to the FORUM.
I stopped collecting those some time back. I filled a few Albums up to a point and realized the Mint is starting to do the same as what happened to USPostage stamps by making a zillion different ones. I suspect in the future all of them will be like the Bicentennial Quarters and not worth more that $0.24 each. Maybe $0.25 but that is about it.

Not all members on here feel the same about State Quarters.

In my opinion the State Quarter program has brought a lot of collectors back into the hobby, also a lot of new ones.

Quarters are now some of the most collected type/series coin.
Meaning, before the State Quarter program, Washington quarters
were not collected as much as other series. Now the 1932 - 1998 quarter prices have risen highly in the past 10 years, and before many collectors would only collect certain series, like Lincoln cents, Morgan dollars or Mercury dimes. You will see have many of those collectors now have a quarter set tucked away.

I do have to say that collecting State/territory quarters in circulated condition, while fun, may not have a lot of value.
But collecting them in uncirculated and proof/silver proof
condition, I feel will they will hold their value and even
increase over time.

The mintage's from 2009 on seem to have come down a lot from the State Quarter years. This makes it much harder to find Territory
and State Park quarter.

I am and will continue to buy the America the beautiful (parks)
mint rolls, from the mint. I have yet to find a 2010 quarter in change. I think these sets, Parks, will end up being worth even more then the State Quarters.

welcome!

Just a touch on the 2009's - I went through about $2300 in quarters and found 22 2009 quarters - 3 of them were beat/stained and I returned them to the bank - but there are not a lot out there. Either they are sitting in rolls in people's houses or some place.
