Hello,

I have inherited a set of sterling silver medallions, the only information I can find online about these is from one website, WorthPoint.

According to them, these were made by the Wittnauer Precious Metals Guild in cooperation with the National Flag Foundation. They are part of the National Flag Collection. On the side of each medallion reads "c NAT'L FLAG FOUND. 1968 w STERLING FIRST EDITION" with what appears to be some sort of serial number thereafter.

The medallions are in mint condition (there are 36 total), and are still in the wooden display case. I am not looking to sell these, I would just like to know their value. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I do not own a camera, so unfortunately I cannot post pictures. However, WorthPoint has 3 of the medallions on their website that have previously sold. I hope I am not breaking any rules by posting these links.

The vast majority of private issue sterling medals, which is what your set is, are valued based on the amount of silver they contain. Sterling is 92.5% pure & spot prices are available at kitco.com; from there you should be able to figure silver value. Having said that, a tiny minority of these sets supposedly have collector value.
