Received this in the mail today. Hope these pictures help. I still believe this coin should be at least AU50.

I don't know if it's just me, TLS5933, but I see something in the PCGS slab pics that I just didn't in the previous set - roundness. I can see the roundness of the breast and hair, and the breast especially would be noticeably flattened had it been a poor strike and not wear.

If this were the first pic shown, I'd have probably called the coin AU50.

If, after reading this post, you click "Reply to Post," the Reply screen will show your first post with the original pics, and the last couple replies (including your new pics) below it. That will make them easier to compare, and maybe you'll see what I'm saying.

Or, maybe I'm just losing it.

Hummmm, I see what your saying Dave but I think the shadows from the window light is causing some of that.In hand it looks pretty flat on the obverse with some roundness on the eagles breast on the reverse. Even if this is so, does it not still fall under the AU50 description? "Traces of wear show on hair above eye,ear and edges of cotton leaves and high upper fold in cap.Partial detail visible on tops of cotton bolls.Luster gone from cheek" Reverse: There are traces of wear on breast, top of legs, wing tipsand talons.Three quarters of mint luster is still present.Numorus bag marks and abrasions"
Heres another pic,I don't know if this helps or not.

Agreed; that's why I second-guessed AU50. This is a poor time to be slabbing coins - PCGS has apparently been shamed into tightening their standards, a little too much, IMO.

Thanks for you opinion Dave. This one is going to ANACS first and if they don't upgrade it.I will just leave it at that. If they do upgrade it,I will try PCGS. I thought it was worth a try anyway but I'm happy with the coin as it is.
