As it looks as if I will not be in town for the big Houston Coin show next week I went to the Pasadena coin show SW Houston today. It was a fair sized show with 50 tables and about 30 dealers. Wore my CCF tee-shirt just in case there was some one else from the forum there. Pickings were slim for my favorite coins but I did manage to pick up a few. Anyway here are my four purchases. Feel free to grade and price away. Coin 1 PCGS rattler holder Coin 2 NGC older holder Coin 3 NGC newer holder Coin 4 Raw Edited by nohope587 11/26/2010 5:49 pm

Hey NoHope587! I'm planning on going to that show! I'm sorry I will miss you. I like your 2 centers! VERY nice! And EXCELLENT photography! I'm going to go with: AU58 MS61 (NICE die crack on the reverse!) AU55 MS62 in order. (and not to be picky but some Verdi-gone would help with the verdigris that's on a couple of these. If we ever get together you can use mine!)

Moe145 do you want to revise your answers? especially in the light of the fact #1 is a KF-4-TDO I think you guys are all going to be saying no way when I post the Slabs tomorrow.. Just goes to show pictures do not always represent coins accurately.

A little History for you Moe145 In 1870 William Barber too over as Chief Engraver for the US mint. As part of his take over he modified the master hub for the 2 Cent. So this coin was struck first with the Obverse of 1869 then with the Obverse of 1870 KF (Kevin Flynn) 2 variety designation TDO triple die obverse Date punch was spread out on this one. for the regular 1871 the 1 almost touches the 7 1st doubling class 3 Design hub doubling mainly shows on the motto 2nd doubling class 5 pivot hub doubling (master die doubling) Re-punched date most visible on the 8 bottom left (not so visible on my poor pics) I goofed on the designation its actually a KF-2-TD0 cross reference FL71B/A-2olr (Frank Leone) The result is generally muted design. I think the PCGS grade is about 2 points high which is kind of surprising when you consider is in an original slab. They were pretty strict then. I would consider sending this one in under the guarantee mainly because of the verdigris and the over grade but as this variety is listed as rare 7-15 samples reported in MS condition. I don't want to run the risk of loosing it especially as the variety is not listed on the holder. I re-took the pictures they are a little better now I also think I am going to stick with my original KF-4-TDO I should not second guess myself

Quote: A little History for you Moe145 That is fascinating! I love learning new stuff and I am a big fan of the 2 Cent coin! I now have to go look at my 1871 2 cent and see what it looks like. (I may have to post a picture of it and you can tell me what KF it is!)
