seems the Gold sets are sold out, here is what the website says on the main page:
The United States Mint is continuing to take orders for the American Eagle 20th Anniversary Coin Sets. Although orders have already been taken that meet the maximum mintage limit for some of these sets (please see individual products for specifics), we will continue to accept orders in the event cancellations occur. Should products become available, these orders will be considered "next in line," and be processed on a first-come, first-serve basis. The United States Mint CANNOT provide information on specific customer order status either online or by telephone. If paying by credit card, please be sure the expiration date is not before December 31, 2006. If we are not able to fulfill your order, you will be notified that your order was cancelled. If you paid by check, you will receive a refund. As with all of our products, the United States Mint reserves the right to accept or reject orders in any combination or options it determines to be in its best interest.

And here is what it says about the Gold sets:
Orders have been taken that meet the mintage level of 10,000 for the American Eagle 20th Anniversary Gold Coin Set. We will continue to accept orders in the event cancellations occur. In that event, you will be considered "next in line," and will be processed on a first-in, first-out basis based upon any remaining inventory that may be available. The United States Mint CANNOT provide information on specific customer placement status either online or by telephone. If paying by credit card, please ensure the expiration date is not before December 31, 2006. If we are not able to fulfill your order, you will be notified that your order was cancelled. If you paid by check, you will receive a refund. The United States Mint reserves the right to accept or reject product orders in any combination or options it determines to be in its best interest.

That was Quick I hope everyone got their orders in, in time if you wanted one of these sets

The silver ones are still available, its the Gold version that sold out, and with only 10,000 of the sets available I think the ones that was able to get them will be a very happy camper with the way it turns out through the years, because just being 10,000 reverse proof Gold eagles in 2006 may make this a key coin in the near future

Thanks Bryan. It looks like some people had some deep pockets, weren't they selling at around $2500 each?

Are the silver sets worth buying? Are they going to go up in the future?

This is funny. I just received in the mail (today) their usual order forms with the brochure. I did not even get a chance to order the gold LOL. Only 10,000 of those for $2,610.00. Then you have the 2-coin deal, only 20,000 of those @ $850. Then the silver ones, 250,000 of those @ $100. It is funny they still want you to put an order in, they will hold your cash, or get your money without commitment to ship, while they earn interest on your money, then after ooh lets say 6 months or so, they will say, "opps sorry dude, here is your money back, unfortunately, we sold out', but thanks for sending us your money so we can earn interest on it, while you are paying interest if you used a credit card--Yea right-- I don't think so. If I decided to now mail in an order I be SOL-- Not today--The silver 3 coin set right now looks attractive, since it is the only thing us 'unconnected collectors" can get--

I think they are worth buying, because even though they aren't Gold, they still will have the first year of the Reverse Proof. That being said I have ordered 3 sets of it also to go along with the 3 sets of Gold with the Reverse Proof. The difference with the 2 coin Gold set is that it isn't going to be the Reverse Proof, it is just going to be a regular old Proof. Another little tidbit about the silver set that will make this a pretty nice pickup is,that it has a UNCIRCULATED ASE in it with the WestPoint mint mark, which will be the only way to get one of these (just like it was in 95 when the only way to get the ASE proof was to get it with the gold sets) and with about 6,000 less coins than were minted in 95, so this could be very well the "Key" coin of this series, then you throw the Reverse Proof in there and you have a chance at a great investment. Like I have said before many many times, I am no future teller or chrystal ball reader I am just trying to predict what a market will do from past experiences

The Benjamin Franklin Commems sold out within hours, so this isn't the fastest anything has sold out but it is one of the fastest that I know of

I think you will see the legacy set sell out here shortly...my last NN showed more than half had been sold in the first week....remember that mint can only process X number of orders/hour...and there are quite a few of the legacy sets available...these will sell out by the second week of September is my prediction...anyone want to bet me?
