I would agree with you, MS-63 to MS-64

Would it be possible to see the whole coin? While the area pictures you have posted are very important, other factors come into play on the grade.Such as luster, bag marks, rim damage. So a whole coin pic would be appreciated.

pateio,
Thanks for the added pictures. Many of the 1881-S Morgans were struck with Prooflike dies and yours seems to be one of them.I believe you also have a S/S VAM there.Doubled mint mark. As far as grading,I would say a strong MS63 and probably a MS64,depending how the hit on the cheek looks like with coin in hand.

Also,welcome to the CC forums.

I think 64 would properly describe that coin. The hits on the cheek probably keep it from 65, considering how tight grading is these days. I like it.

I'd have to say MS63 because I think I see luster breaks but I cant be certain.

Nice coin hard to grade relly by that photo but I would say MS-63. also a little thought try to use a grey background or black or even white th green seems to distract from the coin in the photo , that is just my opinion . By the way welcome to the forum

Yeah, I'll go along with MS-63. It might even go -64 based on the images although there's a couple marks on Liberty's face which might keep it down and an itty-bitty rim ding at 1 o'clock, depending on the influence of the camera. Otherwise, a generally clean Morgan with Good eye, patelo!
