20 Pence 1982 - Toning, Damage Or Wrong Mix Of Metals?

I found that 20p in circulation in this November in Cardiff. I've seen some 1983 50pence, 1953 1 Penny coins showing similar discoloration, what is your opinions about it?

If none of the experts here has any idea about that coin, it may well mean I have the king of the 20p's. :) I should put it off ebay to buy a new condo!. :)

This happens on quite a lot of coins, I have seen it mainly on 50ps and it does not seem to carry any sort of premium on it. Can't tell you why though!

was just joking about the condo!. :) I keep seeing that sort of coloring on large size 50 pence coins, and several of 20 pence coins as well, but haven't seen one that is so obvious. My guess is this is a wrong mix of metals on a planchet (more copper than nickel perhaps) Maybe anyone has a more solid idea.
