One determinant of grade on this coin is detail in LIBERTY. Ignoring the possible rim ding, I'm going to say VG10-F12. There is something else interesting about this coin: it could be a repunched date. In my book, the coin resembles Snow-20 1903, 19/19 (n).

I would agree VG-10 to F-12. Obverse rim looks like it may have a bit of damage.

I would say Fine 12, ignoring the rim ding. The reverse is much nicer, but the obverse has a lot of chatter and is well worn.

Hmm I totally suck at grading But obviously I'm here to learn from the experts... since US coins are not in my originally field of collecting, but they will be.. although a part of it

I'm not an expert either, but I learned something from this IHC grading guide (pdf), written by Rick Snow (a real expert).

Sorry I don't see this going over VG8 details. The rim ding and possible cleaning and the LIBERTY actually has no complete letters but maybe of what is there it would add up to 3 visible.

VG8 Very Good- At least three letters of LIBERTY readable on head band.

I certianly don't see it past VG 10, all things considered
and wheezydog states a good point.
