what is it? It is a small 5.6 cm large bowl in the raised letters are to be seen. It would have medieval writing by 15-16. His century. Can someone tell me what is written here? I have so far only the value that is written there, IHS. I appreciate any information. Thanks Chris

Can't make out any of the other letters but IHS could be the Christogram based on the first three letters of "Jesus" in Greek (ΊησοÏ.Ï‚, Latinized IHSOVS)- (info from wikipedia).
Could have been used to hold the Host (Body of Christ) in a Catholic Mass? As far as I'm aware (and I could be way off the mark) at that time only the priest ate the Host. Although I was taught by Jesuits religious studies were never my strong point.
