I cant seem to figure out this $5 note for the life of me. The order of the signatures is flipped, and I have no idea if this is an error, test or normal note...

Please help :(

Not sure what you think is wrong with it.

It looks like a stock standard 05 McFarlane/Henry note to me.

No $5 test notes issued in 05, only in 1997 with McFarlane/Evans sigs.

Well, I cant seem to find 2005 $5 banknotes in the Kraus catalog and this design was only on the 1992-2001 $5 banknotes, atleast thats what Kraus 1960-Modern Catalogue from 2010 shows, but thanks for clearing this up :)

The same design has been used from 1992-2008, but every year though,
92,93,95,96,97,98,02,03,05,06,07,08. The early notes in 92 & 93 were pale in colour, and the note was re-coloured from 1995 on. Any missing years indicate that Australia did not print $5 notes in those years.

There was a 'special' Centenary of Federation note for 2001 with a totally different design on both sides.

I think the info in Krause is often very in-accurate or in-complete in certain areas.

Plenty of these on ebay:

There's a listing of all Aussie notes in this catalog. This is the most recent edition.
