Can someone explain or verify these errors / variety's?
I have some funny looking coins from various country's especially Europe, I will upload every now and then some pictures... Hoping someone can tell me what's up with them! And if one of them might have some premium, which I doubt

I uploaded some here and there on the forum, but I would like to stick it into one topic... Any information, comments or opinions are always welcome

Look at the difference between the rims, and the dates

10 Centimes, France - 3X
The 3rd coin is the regular colllor, so what's wrong with the other 2 coins? Normal Patina, or tampered with in some dip? And what's up with the bottom picture? It looks like the stamp was really dirty or something?

French 5 Centimes,
you have two slighly different die varieties, not all years have both types.
The only years that do are 1992, 1993 and 1996. These die varieties also occur in the 50 centimes of 1962/63.

It's either a partial filled die, or a Flemish-Belgian got sick and tired of finding French coins and decided to obliterate it. I'd assume the first option.

Yes indeed.

These are called "die chips", where pieces have broken off the die. they're called " Cuds" if they touch the rim.

Worn dies, at a guess - the overall design is weaker, and the "86" and the "L" in IML are deformed.

You mean the 5 centimes coins, I assume.

These coins are made of aluminium-bronze, which can turn all sorts of different colours, depending on environmental conditions. The 1987 is simply heavily circulated. The 1993 one has environmental damage, corrosion; perhaps it was left for a while at the bottom of a pool or fountain, or even buried for a few years and dug up again.

That's a great crack on the Belgian 1Fr. The die did not last much longer.

Hahahah..! Andy, I was talking about the collor, not the collar LOL But also thanks for that other info about the die variaty's. I shall look for those in the collection... I have all those years doubble, so they could be those variety's you talked about.

And yeah DV that's a pretty big crack, I have the same coin with a similair die crack... only not that deep, and less visible.
I will post that one also in the update.
