My little point and shoot isn't doing this coin much justice, but these pics are a little closer to how it looks in hand. This is much closer to it's true look and colors than the other pics.

GREAT FIND! Congrats Wolf!
The coin is quite valuable as these are rare. I'm afraid the MAD will hurt it a little, but not much.

Man, Love what I'm hearing. This has been sitting around for about a year now. Thanks again Scoob. Could not have gotten this out there without ya. And thanks all for the comments. I was doing the happy dance when I found this one. WOLF

Quote: I'd be proud to have this coin in my collection. Oh wait, now I do! You are a funny man Scooby ..... and Many Thanks for taking the photos of this lovely coin for us. Great find Wolf! Nobody so far has offered even a guess at value ..... soooo .... I will ... just to keep us calibrated ... 2010 RedBook states $500 in MS65 .... this coin is not MS65 and the RedBook is usually way off. Sooo .... that's a guess on value for this great find ..... the true value of course depends on what someone will pay ... but for me ... I would call it a keeper for myself forever. Thanks for sharing. David

Old wolf-n-wa mentioned this coin to me awhile ago on another board and since then I've been really searching them 92's. I gave up on them for awhile. No more just glances at 92's since then. It's awesome to really see it...!

Quote:2010 RedBook states $500 in MS65 I'm not showing any values at all in the blue or Red Book. I thought to date (or at least mid-last year) there were less than 20 known examples.

Just watched a 99 WAM MS65 go up to $611 on ebay...and these are quite a bit harder to come by...I never look at the RedBook for pricing..or any book for that matter

Start searching, I found this: "The most recent 1992-D Close AM cent to be sold was auctioned off as Lot 1203 in Teletrade Auction 2690 on May 10, 2009, for $2,900. It was graded by PCGS as Almost Uncirculated-53 BN."

This think Wolf's coin is AU-50. Does it have any luster? See any cartwheels?

I think it'd be worth sending to NCS and NGC. Don't try to conserve the coin yourself! This is a job for the pros. I hope it's living in an airtite for now.

Yes, it has a pretty good amount of luster remaining, with cartwheels.

Don't worry Wolf, it went into an airtite as soon as I was done with the pics.
