But...it's got excellent eye appeal and is in great overall condition for it's level of wear and age, so I'd have no problem calling it VF20. I couldn't capture it with the camera, but when you turn the coin in your hand and at certain angles there are shades of dark red and green that appear all throughout the coin. It's my first seated half. I bought this one on ebay. I wanted one to hold in hand and to finish reading the book on them I bought as well before I buy more. I'm a new collector, just now learning to grade. With all the counterfeits, cleaned coins, etc on ebay I'm glad to hear I did OK on my first purchase. Report this Post to the Staff

I think it's a great looking coin - I like toning and this is an early date from New Orleans mint which add historical interest I think - nice! And...
