I was reading in CoinWorld last night that the "Captains" are having a bit of spat. Seems PCGS has applied to trademark the words "First Strike" and NGC is protesting it. Why doesn't NGC just trademark "Could be" a First Strike-- since that's what they really are? Hey, when is someone going to trademark: "Sheep prepped for Shearing?"

Someone should trade mark the entire English language and then we'd have to pay whenever we want to speak. LOL. Freedom of speech costs a buck O five. (paraphrased from "Team America") NGC could try and trademark the words "Coin", "Proof" and "price".

I'm gonna copyright the word "the". Think what t** English/American language would be without *** word "the". And how much I'd make on *** royalties! Come to think about it for 1/2 second more, I think I'll also copyright the words "you know" and NEVER EVER lease it out. It would certainly clean up the local patois.

Personally I think some wealthy American collector should file suit for proof they have indeed purchased a FIRST strike coin. First, implies number one, and the next coin after that would be number two wouldn't it? How in the world can millions of first strikes be offered every year. The answer would lie with the Mint which knows EXACTLY how many dies are used each year so that would narrow it down considerably, or should I say, to an exact number! The grading companies could (I say could) serve the hobby well but greed and hype have turned them into nothing more than a Home Shopping Network by mail!!!

A "First Strike" that shows some luster on it can be called a Transit Strike.--only not so rare.

So now we're gonna get the labor unions in on the suit as Friends of the Court? Which side would they come in on? Maybe they'll force the issue by insisting on "First Wildcat Walkout" instead of "Strike".

I remember several years ago here in Australia, the dairy industry tried to trademark/copyright the word "milk". So if anyone wanted to buy any soy-milk, goats-milk, milk-of-magnesia, they would have to ask for soy product or extract etc. I was afraid that each time I said "the milk of human kindness" I would have to chip in a buck to stave off a law-suit! The world gets more and more stupid!

If we copyright the word copyrighted then we can get a piece of the action with every lawsuit.
