Hi, all,

My 12 year old daughter was just given two full boxes (100 rolls) of uncirculated Kennedy halves by a relative. Here's what we know:

* The boxes are both open
* All 100 rolls are intact, we have not opened any
* We were told the coins were uncirculated. They appear clean
and shiny without visible wear or fingerprints, not even
small scratches.
* All of the visible dates (either side of the rolls) are 2001-D
* I can supply photos if this would be of helpful

We know nothing about grading or value. A quick ebay search showed $10 rolls like these selling for $19 including shipping, if they sold (not all did).

Do these have much value as uncurculated coins? Who would buy them, if we wanted to add to college savings?

Thank you for your help!

Solid rolls of 2001D's wold be a though sell in most areas. Numimedia has them listed at 58 cents each in grades G4-AU58 and 60 cents in MS60.

I agree.....only worth .50 Cents apiece.....or face value per roll.

Despite their "BU state" and being in intact rolls...

On the other hand this phrase works TWO WAYS....
"Something is only worth what you can find somebody to pay you for it."Despite what a book says or even a learned professional.
So, if you saw on ebay with $19.00 a roll.....that would probably be your best bet.
Nobody here on the forum would likely pay much of a premium for these.
A coin shop certainly wouldn't.
eBay reaches BILLIONS of people around the world !....

I would say since they were given to her, hang onto them put them away and forget about them for 40 or 50 years then they might be worth something.IMO

Once they discontinue the Kennedy halves they will be worth a little more!
