Ran across this:

Seriously. I'm soaking my 1st ever buff's. After 5 days I have a clear 16-D. how long after a legible but weak date does it stay in? Can I keep removeing them as to check on progress? When do you know it's beyond redemption? I really like this, as It keeps me off the computer in order to get other things done. Watch & wait, I guess. I have 8 rolls of N/D's and have more coming. Can this be done en masse? What are the biggest hassels involved? Thanks for any input. I cant believe I havent done this in 60 years. Tried nic-a-date once, and results were disasterous. This seems too easy. Go on, try to discourage me, its that or I'll be bidding on every dateless I can get my hands on. Help!

I wonder what it smells like?

Just soak your dateless nickels until you can see the date clearly, then take them out and rinse very thoroughly with clean water. You can dry them by patting gently with soft paper towels. Some nickels will not show a date no matter how long you soak them. If a date isn't visible after maybe 1 week it's probably not going to show up.

No reason why you can't do a bunch at a time. You just need to look at them individually to decide when each one is "done".

Please post some of your results!

"Tried nic-a-date once, and results were disasterous."

That's the only thing I've used on my no dates and never had a problem. I'm curious to see what your coins look like after this soak. Would you mind posting some before and after pics? Also where did you find this stuff?
