Poll Question
Now that the the "28 Days of Morgans" is coming to a spectacular end (HUGE kudos to SuperDave & all the Morgan Lovers who posted their gorgeous Morgans! It was FUN!), But now, what do we do next?(I have some possible suggestions below for US coins...) (I have X days of ___ because I haven't done any math yet on any possible coin types!)

I got a couple Buffs, I think it would be a nice set to check out and learn about typical strikes etc.

I don't know about the rest of you, but I personally do not own any of the originally suggested coins, and therefore would not be able to participate. That's the way it's been for a bit. How about something common like Lincoln Wheat Backs, Liberty nickels or the Mercury dime for a few. Then there would be more participation.

Hey Moe, How about 30 days of coins from the Republic of Maryland... That should make a few folks happy.

Ummm how about 2 cent circulation strikes it would only be 9 days But as one of the few odd denomination coins that was actually used by the public there are plenty of well loved examples out there.

I consider these topics to be complete win-win's, and look forward to more. Keep in mind, though, any thread needs to be in the relevant forum. If we do Lincolns, for instance, it'll have to go in "Modern US coins" and we'll have to warn/acclimate a different audience to the concept, in advance.

How about a 20 or 25 or whatever days of coins per decade? We could count backwards starting in 2010, then 2000-2009 etc and we can go as far back as colonial issues. That way, the oldest coins tend to stay the newest posts.

I voted for "X Days of Large Cents" before I realized you also had a "X Days of Old Copper (Halfs & Cents)" option. Either are good with me. Actually, any and all of the options are good with me, even Nod's idea!

Quote: I bet you could guess my vote Moe! ;-) SO true!! And Man, would I love to see them! And since these type of threads require you post ALL of your coins of that type, I think you might have lots a' picturin' to do!

These "days of" threads seem to take a lot of planning and logistics, and seem to last forever.... Have you considered shorter, classification type threads, like..... 'favorite coin'..... or coins with doubling...... or clashed coins...... or toned coins..... or error coins..... or coins with cracks, breaks and Cuds..... or counterfeit coins. Then there are coins with significant PMD..... or well worn coins (you know, the kind of coins that I have). These types of threads would not have specific time parameters, and as such, could be resurrected at anytime when someone acquires a new coin. I think that I just don't like being tied down to a particular date time frame..... (kinda like an appointment that I have to make).... structure is something that brings out the natural rebellion in me.... I might be alone in my thinking though.... I usually am.

I have a vested interest in threads like this which will become obvious in the near future. I would like to see copper next. Large Cents, from 1816. They're popular, easy to shoot, and available in stupid-high grades. In some cases.
