first, where are the peace VAM examples. I think I see a definish lean toward the Morgan?

2. How does one learn how to grade, I mean there seems to be a few concrete guidelines, but much appears to be subjective, is this a wrong perception?

3. Is there a class I can take, get a degree and do this grading for a living? ( how great would that be)

4. are there albums for silvers without dates, so you could build a collection of your choice?

5.How many questions can one ask in one post and is anyone sick of all mine yet? wait, don't answer that.

Why would one put a number on how many questions to ask on just one thread? Well how many answers can be suggested that leave the original thought aside while the opinions flood the thread.leaving many opinions, and no answers...many a time its better to address one or 2 questions to stay on tract...AS for Peace dollars there is less to find exact grading understandings...Its hard for Morgans we are now expanding to revele the fine points, I hope to that the Peace dollars will follow this same example...and I am sure they will....

you can just take any silver folder and put your own coins in them..despite the dates, they/ the date are of no consequence..
It is your own collection...

You might log onto the American Numismatic Associations site. ( ANA) They offer a program called the Florence Schook School of Numismatics. It's all explained there.

Sunny, there are Peace dollar VAM's but the Morgan is the most collected Dollar series ever and I believe I have read its the most collected US series ever (I am not so sure about that one because there sure seems to be allot of Lincoln Cent collectors because of their availability). We do have people on here that collect Peace dollars but there are a greater number of Morgan collectors. If you are one of the few Peace dollar collectors then by all means post away about them

2-3) Learning to grade is something that comes with experience, there is a class that can be taken that the ANA (American Numismatic Association) has but I really do not know how one would take that course here in NC but it is a very valuable course and there have been some big names that has taken the course, some YN (young Numismatists) that has went on to become some shining stars of the Numismatic community and has been hired by Third Party Grading Companies.

4) as was said above Dansco does make an album with holes the size of Silver Dollars that you can fill any way you like

5) If you have a question do not hesitate to ask, that is what this forum is here for and there is no limit on the amount of questions one person or one thread can ask

I started with the engravers, I'm still on Mr. Morgan, man what was I thinking, no just kidding, I love this. Anyway, I was hoping, you might have run across a site on how the dies were made, I'm having no luck. " Maybe cause I'm an old fart I don't know". Anyway just a starting point if you have one, Thanks, Lee

Sunny &Lee, I would suggest , if you wish to really learn the Who, What, Where, When, Why and How of the Morgan/Peace Dollar world, reading the Founders of VAMS book entitled, The Encyclopedia Of Morgan & Peace dollars, 4TH edition from the first page to the 500+ the book has to offer, the ISBN# 0-9660168-2-3 IS THE PAPERBACK EDITION, it also comes in a leather edition and a hardbound one also.
This "big book" is a tremendous help in understanding the entire history and process's involved in these amazing coins, and as Dave stated, the Morgan silver dollar is the most collected series in History, for dollars, good luck, the book can get overwhelming but stick with it and you will have a much greater knowledge base on this topic......
