At least I don't have to send them back because the coins are messed up, the coins are all nice no problems.

but really nothing special about them, I still can't believe that the Lincoln Cent is the sheild cent, I mean it's ok, it's just not the reverse I would have chosen.

So we now have the shield reverse for 2010 and 2011.

Good to know the quality was acceptible. I have a couple older sets I should have returned but was too lazy to deal with it.

I hear you on the shield cent, it was a poor, poor choice. The design with the eagle was vastly superior.

Yes, the shield has replaced the memorial, probably for the next 47 or 48 years (if they make them that long). It was not a special reverse like the 2009 series; it is the new reverse.

I agree...... I don't "hate" the Shield design either....I've actually grown to kind of like it really ! The more I see it, the more I'm okay with it.

But I am glad to hear that Metalmans Proof set was "problem free"....with the Mints quality control these days.......ugh !

Looking forward to placing my order too. As soon as all three of the Sets are out, I will do so. (one order saves me shipping !)
Can't wait to get those coins in their prospective albums !

I don't know, I actually like the shield design. Although I never saw any of the other possible reverses.

I am somewhat worried about ordering from the mint again. Their QA has failed me every time I order from them and I am getting fed up with having to return my order nearly every instance. You would think with the price gouging they are doing they could get a couple extra hands on the QA side of things.

I got my set yesterday too. Quality was good which was a relief after having to send last year's set back.

I keep buying these but I've got to admit they don't really give me the same level of excitement as other coins. I just feel like I am stockpiling them in the safe. But - they will probably be more interesting in years to come.

I don't think the ATB Quarters render very well in proof form - the business strikes are nicer I think.

I do like the presidentials as proofs however.

I agree, I'm not thrilled with the sets, I keep on stockpiling them too. Lately I've been picking up an awful lot of the more recent sets for less than I spent on them when they came out. I should wait and buy on the secondary market. However, the one year I skipped buying sets from the mint is the one year the values were high (2004).

Back when we were discussion designs, there was another shield design that (in my opinion) looked better.

I commented on it then...

The thing that worries me about buying on the secondary market is that someone has maybe cherrypicked all of the good sets and you are getting one that didn't make the cut. I guess if you can get a good look at them, maybe that's not an issue.

I've received mine too, but I'm a little annoyed that they changed the presentation of the Presidential dollars. Now the cardboard is plain instead of the picture of the previous years.

I rather hate posts like this one. Every time someone makes a post about getting their either Proof or Uncirculated sets from the Mint, it reminds me I haven't even ordered mine yet. So now that is what I have to do real soon so the next post like this one I can say YEAH, ME TOO.
